Additional Community Impact Programs

These unique programs expand upon our impact by providing targeted funding and incentives to help members expand access to affordable housing and support local community needs. Availability and funding may vary by program, and offerings are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) Program

Status: Fully Allocated

Provides grant funding through members to support eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations facing economic challenges, helping sustain local economies and communities.

0% Development Advance (ZDA) Program

Status: Available

Provides members with subsidized funding through interest-rate credits to support lending and investment initiatives for small businesses, nonprofits, energy, infrastructure, tribal, and housing development.

MAP® HomeAssist Program

Status: Available

Provides members participating in the Mortgage Asset Program (MAP®), our secondary mortgage outlet, with reimbursement of $12,000 per loan to help offset eligible down payment and closing cost credits for low- to moderate-income borrowers.

In addition to the programs listed above, the FHLBNY also considers requests for charitable contributions from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations that support affordable housing, community development, and economic opportunity throughout our District. Funding requests are reviewed on a rolling, case-by-case basis, and funding decisions are made at the sole discretion of the FHLBNY, with consideration given to:

The creation and/or preservation of affordable housing;
Anticipated measurable community impact;
Alignment with FHLBNY’s mission; and
Availability of funds.
