Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) Program
COMING SOON: Small Business Recovery Grant
The FHLBNY is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the 2025 Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) Program, with a total of $5 million in grant funding available. This impactful program will once again provide grant support to members’ small business, farm, and non-profit relationships—helping them navigate persistent economic challenges such as inflation, supply chain disruptions, rising energy costs, and interest rate pressures. The Program will operate similarly to last year’s offering. More information will be forthcoming.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s (FHLBNY) Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) Program was developed in response to the 2017 hurricanes in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 2020, the SBRG program was relaunched in response to the Coronavirus pandemic to help alleviate the challenges small businesses faced across our District. Recently, in 2023, the FHLBNY simplified the eligibility criteria and submission process for the SBRG program to ensure rapid deployment of funds to eligible recipients.
The SBRG Program provides flexible funds to benefit small-businesses and non-profits located in FHLBNY members’ communities. This program supports the financial security of qualifying organizations that face economic challenges due to the rate environment, inflation, supply-chain constraints, and/or rising energy costs by partnering with members to provide grants. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds have been reserved. Members will be notified in advance if future funds become available.
