2022 Suffolk County Community Financial Institutions Roundtable Discussion: Assessing the Needs and Discussing Solutions for our Businesses and Underserved Communities
Hauppauge, NY
As part of our continued mission to advance housing opportunity and local community development, the FHLBNY was honored to participate in the Suffolk County Community Financial Institutions Roundtable Discussion in Hauppauge, New York. Roundtable participants identified the challenges and needs of the local business community, Credit Unions, CDFIs, and SBDCs and explored possible ways to collaborate with financial assistance, lending and education. The FHLBNY provided a brief overview of current and previous programs to help with the recovery efforts in Long Island, such as the FHLBNY’s Small Business Recovery Grant Program, and the FHLBNY’s Community Investment Programs – Community Lending Program (CLP), Affordable Housing Program (AHP), and Homebuyer Dream Program® (HDP®). A special thanks to our fellow FHLBNY members and Suffolk County executives who joined us to help assess the needs and discuss solutions for local businesses and underserved communities.
We look forward to continuing the dialogue and future collaboration on affordable housing, small business assistance, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability programs that will help support Suffolk County’s local businesses and underserved communities for many years to come.
