BAI Certifies Christatos as a Risk Professional
First Certified Risk Professional in the Federal

New York, NY – Steve S. Christatos, Vice President and Risk Manager at the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, is now a Certified Risk Professional (CRP). He recently received the CRP certification by the prestigious Bank Administrative Institute (BAI).
“This certification by BAI means the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York not only has the first risk manager in the Federal Home Loan Bank System, but also the first to receive BAI certification,” said Alfred A. DelliBovi, President of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
The BAI is an internationally recognized professional organization devoted exclusively to improving the performance of financial services companies through strategic research and information, education and training. BAI only certifies risk professionals who meet BAI’s exacting criteria of professional experience in domestic as well as international banking.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York is a AAA rated wholesale Bank, with $80 billion in assets. It is part of the Federal Home Loan Bank System, a national wholesale banking network of 12 regional, stockholder-owned banks. The FHLB of New York serves 295 financial institutions in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The mission of the Federal Home Loan Banks is to support the efforts of local members to help provide financing for America’s homebuyers.

Mr. Christatos joined the Home Loan Bank of New York in February of 2000 as Vice President and Risk Manager. He is also a member of the Bank’s Executive Team, which is charged with providing managerial oversight and governance of the Bank.
Prior to joining the Home Loan Bank of New York, Mr. Christatos was Senior Vice President and Department Head of the Business Research Department as well as the Total Risk Management Project Team Leader for the New York branch of Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank Ltd.
From 1993 to 1996 Mr. Christatos was manager of the international credit supervision division at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank’s head office in Tokyo, Japan. He worked in various executive positions for Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank from 1987 through 1999.
Mr. Christatos has been working in the financial services industry since 1983.
Mr. Christatos holds an MBA in finance and a BA in industrial psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey.
